A new office to promote smart machinery has been launched in Taichung, a key region for the Taiwanese machinery industry.

At the opening ceremony, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen reinforced the government’s desire to increase the country’s smart machinery output.

"Taiwan cannot miss out on opportunities in Industry 4.0, if we want to hold fast to 'made in Taiwan' policies or strengthen the nation through industry," President Tsai said. "The new office is an important milestone for Taiwan’s Industry 4.0.”

The primary objective of the new office will be to accelerate innovation in smart machinery and to help manufacturers expand their sales, exhibition and distribution channels. It also aims to establish a new talent pool for this industry.
