Taiwanese textile industry shows signs of recovery
04/09/2017
Taiwanese textile companies have achieved exports of $5.8 billion so far in 2017, a slight improvement compared to the same point in 2016.
TTF has said the outlook for the rest of 2017 is positive. It expects Taiwanese textile and fabric manufacturers to benefit from an increase in demand caused by the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in June and July in Russia.
It explained that a number of companies, including Shinkong Synthetic Fibre and Far Eastern New Century, are likely to secure large orders of sports apparel from global brands ahead of this event.
Taiwanese textile and fabric manufacturers are currently preparing for the next edition of the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (Titas), which will take place from October 16-18 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre.
