Paradox Sports, which was founded in 2007, runs the Adaptive Climbing Initiative with the goal of making climbing gyms across the US accessible to people with physical disabilities. It does this by providing them with instructor training and adaptive equipment.
Ann Krcik, senior director of brand communications and outdoor exploration at The North Face, described Paradox Sports as “a first of its kind movement”. She added that the North Face is committed to making sports accessible to people of all abilities.
“The North Face has been an absolute game-changer for our organisation. Paradox Sports is fortunate to have a partner that is a genuine believer in our mission and will help provide us with the support we need to turn our vision into a movement. We now have the support we need to make climbing gyms, recreation centres and university climbing areas accessible nationwide,” said Mike Neustedter, executive director of Paradox Sports.
Earlier in March, US textile firm Polartec also pledged its support for the initiative, releasing a film to highlight the work done by Paradox Sports.
