Under Armour rewards promising young designers
Sportswear brand Under Armour has revealed the results of its first Design Future Show, an initiative that aims to uncover the best design students from across the US.

Six finalists, three focused on apparel and three on footwear, were mentored by Under Armour designers, before presenting their design ideas in front of a crowd that included Under Armour’s chief design officer David Dombrow, vice president of global design engine Noreen Naroo-Pucci and senior design director Nick Cienski.

Chance Manzler from the University of Cincinnati was named the winner in the apparel category, with Kurtis Hoffman of the College for Creative Studies in Michigan being selected from the footwear students. They win a cash prize, as well as an Under Armour Design Fellowship, which will be partly held at the company’s Lighthouse design and manufacturing facility in Baltimore.

“The creative output from this selection of students was outstanding. Their end to end journey was excellent and redefined standard approaches to design. We experienced world class talent that reset the bar for the next generation,” said Mr Naroo-Pucci.
