AMSilk recruits ex-adidas and WL Gore product manager

Synthetic silk biopolymer manufacturer AMSilk has announced an expansion to the team at its fibre business unit with the appointment of Martin Lankes as senior product manager, with the aim of helping the company develop “market-ready products with selected leading brands and partners and to set new standards in the fibre industry”. This will include continuous improvement of the company’s Biosteel fibre.

Martin Lankes is an experienced textile engineer and product manager who has previously worked for Patagonia, Helly Hansen, WL Gore and adidas.

He said on taking up his new position: “AMSilk has a unique product and is the only biotech company in the world to produce the Biosteel fibre in large quantities. I am particularly fascinated by the many different Biosteel applications and I’m looking forward to helping to further develop and market it.”
