Invista launches new tool for intimate apparel makers

Fibre manufacturer Invista has launched a new platform that aims to help casual bra designers to select the fabric that best meets the performance and comfort needs of their customers. It was unveiled at the Interfilière Paris exhibition (July 8-10).

The Lycra Bra Fabric Finder comes in response to a change in the requirements for intimate apparel, Invista has explained. It will also help the company to “strengthen its leadership position in the intimate apparel category”.

Designers are able to choose where they want to position new products on a “casualisation scale” that includes active, everyday and leisure levels. The levels vary by the amount of support and comfort they offer. For example, the active category offers high support and is designed for light physical activity, while the leisure category offers high comfort and is designed for use at home. 

Based on the manufacturer’s input, the tool will identify the fabrics that meet their requirements. The quality and performance qualities of each fabric are certified by Invista.
