Covestro extends partnership with Italian distributors

Polymer manufacturer Covestro has renewed long-standing arrangements it has in place with two distribution partners in Italy, Mito Polimeri and Plastotecnica. It said on making the announcement that its partnerships with both companies have now run for more than 40 years (Covestro was formerly Bayer MaterialScience, changing its name in 2015).

Products that the two distributors bring into the Italian market include thermoplastic polyurethanes such as Desmopan and Texin, which are used in a wide variety of applications, including functional textiles and sporting goods.

“Italy is an attractive market for a multitude of sectors,” Covestro said at the time of the announcement, “in particular the automotive and electronics sectors, but also for sporting, recreational and consumer goods.” It said it considers its work with both partners to be an important factor in its success in Italy.
