Major management reshuffle at Covestro

Polymer manufacturer Covestro has announced a series of changes to the leadership teams of two of its divisions, polyurethanes, and coatings, adhesives and specialties. 

Dr Markus Steilemann, the company’s chief commercial officer since 2017, is to relinquish his position as head of the polyurethanes segment, a position he has held since the start of 2016.

He is expected to succeed Patrick Thomas as CEO of the company in September 2018.

Dr Steilemann will be replaced by Daniel Meyer, who is moving over from his position at the head of the coatings, adhesives and specialties division. His replacement will be Michael Friede, who is currently in charge of Covestro’s global elastomers business. 

The changes will take effect on September 1, 2017.
