Covestro expands TPU capacity in Taiwan

Polymer manufacturer Covestro has completed the expansion of the thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) capacity at the manufacturing facility it operates in Changhua, Taiwan.

The capacity at the site has been increased by 30%, which the company has said will cater for increasing demand from the Asia-Pacific region. It pointed out that the facility in Changhua is conveniently placed for potential customers in Southeast Asia, where industries like footwear are prominent. 

In the past 12 months, Covestro has completed a similar expansion to its facility in New Martinsville, US. It has also taken over the majority of its joint venture in Japan.
