The chief financial officer of polymer manufacturer Covestro, Frank Lutz, has resigned from his position, the company has announced.

Dr Richard Pott, chairman of Covestro’s supervisory board, expressed his regret at Mr Lutz’s decision, but thanked him for his contribution to the company.

Chief executive Patrick Thomas will take over the role on an interim basis until a suitable successor can be found. Covestro said the position of Labour Director, which Mr Lutz also occupied, will be filled in due course.

“Covestro is in an excellent position to pursue its strategy of long-term profitable growth, based on operational strength and strong financial results,” Dr Pott said.
