Garneau product manager performs well in ultra-cycling event

Between July 28 and August 6, Mr Dussault competed in the European Transcontinental Race. This fifth edition of the ultra-cycling event began in Belgium and ended in Greece, with competitors covering a total distance of 4,000 kilometres, an average of 400 kilometres per day.
Competitors ride unsupported, making their own decisions about when and where they they want to sleep and eat; they are also responsible for routing themselves through four checkpoints (in Germany, Italy, Slovakia, and Romania). Nearly 300 cyclists began the race and Geoffroy Dussault managed a fourth-place finish.
He was in the lead for much of the early part of the race but suffered severe damage to his Garneau Gennix D1 road-disc bike when he collided with a car in Italy, leaving his rear wheel unusable. Unable to find an exact match, the people running a local bike shop helped him improvise a replacement wheel. He finished a little over an hour behind English cyclist Matthew Falconer.
