Arc’teryx issues voluntary recall for 2016 Procline boots

Canadian outdoor brand Arc’teryx has issued a voluntary recall notice for its 2016 Procline boots, both men’s and women’s, because of a possible safety issue with the axis pin, the component that keeps the spoiler and rotating cuff in place.

Six models of the 2016 Procline boot were manufactured between November 1, 2015 and March 31, 2017 and the recall concerns all six.

“In a very small number of the boots, the axis pin has dislodged during use, leading us to issue a voluntary recall to repair the pin and allow the boot to function as designed,” Arc’teryx said in a statement.

It insisted that it has had no reports of injuries but said that, in the interest of customer safety, it wants its customers to stop using the boots immediately and send them back for repair, following procedure at this link.
