Arc’teryx feels a responsibility towards outdoor conservation

27/11/2017
Canadian outdoor brand Arc’teryx will donate all proceeds from US online sales on November 28 the Conservation Alliance’s Public Lands defence fund.

The date marks what has become known in the US as Giving Tuesday. It was established in 2012 to encourage people to make charitable donations after the post-Thanksgiving Black Friday shopping blitz.

The Conservation Alliance, an association that helps to protect wildlife areas in North America, set up the Public Lands defence fund in January 2017 in response to proposals from US national and state governments which would see these areas come under threat.

Arc’teryx’s donation will contribute to protecting at-risk wild space and preserving important conservation laws.

Jon Hoerauf, president of Arc’teryx, explained: “We support conservation projects not only in Canada, but around the world. The need to protect the public lands system in the US is at a critical point in time. As industry leaders, it is our responsibility to step up for our community and the environment in which we exist.”
