Performance fibre group Teijin has said it will establish a new research and development facility in Thailand. The facility, which will on polymers as raw materials for polyester and other fibres, will open in January.

Its location will be the Thailand Science Park, a private-sector science and technology hub near Rangsit, north of Bangkok.

The Thai laboratory will collaborate with Teijin’s polymerisation and fibres research and development facility in Matsuyama, Japan, as well as with the group’s product development facility in Nantong, China, giving it what it has called three strategic research and development hubs in Asia.
