Teijin jacket offers innovative cooling solution

The structure allows air to enter through the jacket’s outer shell and inner lining in both the front and back. The air is discharged through openings in the neck, underarms and chest of the garment by a fan unit, developed by Makita. It has a rechargeable battery.
The jacker features different Teijin fibres which make it waterproof, stretchable and anti-static. The zippered arms and neck can be removed to convert it to a fan-cooled vest.
Teijin has said sales of the new fan jacket will start mid-April through Makita’s existing marketing channels. New sales channels will also be developed by Teijin group companies and partners.
The company has explained that it will continue to develop advanced fabrics and related solutions. This includes clothing with integrated wearable sensors.
