Teijin to showcase functional materials at Outdoor Retailer

28/07/2016
Textile fabric developer Teijin Frontier is to present a range of its functional materials for sports and outdoor wear at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer exhibition in Salt Lake City (August 3-6).

Among these materials will be Deltapeak, Teijin’s knitted nylon materials, which was been created by adapting processing technology used to make polyester. Teijin says it is soft, durable and stretchable, as well as offering ultraviolet protection, anti-transparency and snag resistance. Several varieties of the material will be presented including a 3D woven version.

Teijin will also display its multilayer sheath-core fibre, Octa, a high-tenacity polyester called Pasmo, and bio-derived fibre Solotex.

The company will also take the opportunity to promote its Think Eco initiative, which promotes environmentally-friendly processes to conserve fossil fuel resources and reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions.
