High-performance fibre manufacturer Teijin is to launch a range of outdoor clothing with camping and mountaineering developer Snow Peak.

The range, which will initially consist of outdoor jackets and pants, will be made from Teijin’s heat-resistant and flame-retardant meta-aramid fibre Teijinconex and will be available in all Snow Peak stores in Japan.

According to the Japanese company, Teijinconex is temperature-resistant to over 400°C and so is suitable for camping and general outdoor use, including around campfires.

This is Teijin’s first venture into the outdoor clothing market but it intends to increase its collaboration with Snow Peak in order to develop more products in the future.
