Teijin unveils “extra-functional” Nylon fabrics

14/07/2016
Textile fabric developer Teijin Frontier has created two new nylon-based materials that offer the advantages of polyester, including softness, moisture management and low weight. The fabrics were developed by adapting the company’s polyester production technologies.

Deltapeak, a new knitted nylon, is lightweight and soft, offers good stretch ability and snag resistance and is highly durable. It can be used in outdoor, sports and casual garments.

The company’s Waveron fabric features a cross-sectional shape which increases anti-transparency, moisture management and the speed of drying. Teijin says it is suitable for yoga wear and compression garments.

Teijin will use the two fabrics in sportswear and outdoor items from its 2017 spring/summer collection. It will also feature in some items of casual wear.
