New Teijin fibre offers superior cushioning

Textile fabric developer Teijin Frontier has announced an update to its Solotex polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) fibre, which will increase the cushioning it offers to a fabric. 

The company says that Solotex RC provides “superior vertical cushioning” due to a new arrangement of crimped PTT fibre. The new fibre also retains its shape better than Solotex staple fibre wadding. Teijin believes it can be used for sports apparel, bedding and industrial materials. 

Among the fibre’s other characteristics are a soft, smooth textile, gentle elasticity, and comfort. Its three-dimensional structure offers “omnidirectional bulkiness”.
