Teijin restructures fibre businesses

02/12/2016
High-performance fibre manufacturer Teijin Limited has announced plans to integrate its industrial-application fibres business and its “products converting” business group as of April 1, 2017.

The aim of this reorganisation is to strengthen and expand the two business areas. Polyester fibres are currently part of Teijin’s advanced fibres and composites business group. That group will move to specialise in aramid fibres after the restructuring.

Teijin hopes these changes will allow it to “provide maximum customer value” and facilitate “new development activities”. The company says it will result in a more reliable supply chain for apparel applications, including the integration of research and development, and raw material and fibre productions with existing textile-processing and sewn-product operations.
