Parley for the Oceans begins beach-cleaning programme in Chile

A programme for removing discarded plastic from beaches in Chile this summer began successfully in Arica from January 4-6 with volunteers collecting 1,500 kilos of rubbish.

The programme is being run by local volunteers under the auspices of campaign group Parley for the Oceans and with sponsorship from beer brand Corona. The exercise will continue on different parts of the country’s extensive coastline until the end of February.
