MLS teams to wear adidas Parley jerseys to mark Earth Day

This is the latest stage in a partnership between adidas and ocean conservation organisation Parley For The Oceans. The jerseys are made from marine plastic intercepted from coastal areas that has been transformed into a performance yarn suitable for use in footwear and apparel.
It is the second time that MLS has partnered with adidas to highlight the problem of plastic waste in the oceans. In 2017, adidas introduced jerseys made from ocean plastic for four MLS clubs to celebrate Earth Day.
This year’s collaboration also coincides with Earth Day (April 22), with all 23 MLS teams set to wear an adidas Parley jersey during matches taking place that weekend.
“We are proud to continue to build upon our collaborative efforts with MLS and Parley for the Oceans to inspire creative solutions for protecting the world’s oceans,” said Ernesto Bruce, director of adidas Soccer. “We believe in the innovative partnership we have forged and hope that these kits made using Parley Ocean Plastic inspire the soccer community to join us in preserving our precious environment.”
