Australia the stage for adidas’ ocean plastic tennis range

Sportswear manufacturer adidas has unveiled its first collection of tennis clothing made from recovered ocean plastic. The range is the latest stage of its relationship with ocean conservation group Parley for the Oceans.

The adidas Tennis x Parley collection will make its debut at the forthcoming Australian Open tournament (January 14-27), one of the four ‘Majors’ on the tennis calendar.

A video posted through its social media channels shows German professional tennis player Alexander “Sascha” Zverev, who will wear the new range at the tournament in Melbourne. The other players who will wear it are Spain’s Garbiñe Muguruza, Austria’s Dominic Thiem and Germany’s Angelique Kerber.
