Texon achieves FSC Certification
Components supplier Texon International has achieved the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) environmental accreditation for Texon Vogue products made at its cellulose-fibre production facility in Möckmühl, Germany.

The 70 year-old company was originally known for its cellulose-based insoles but has moved into supplying components for apparel.

Texon Vogue is used for jeans labels as well as washable kraft paper that is marketed as an alternative to leather and used for garments, bags and wallets.

Holger Hoffmann, sales manager for Texon in Germany, said: “Texon Vogue was already being produced using renewable and sustainable materials and we are delighted to receive this recognition from the FSC. This certification ensures products made from wood-pulp are sourced from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.”

FSC certified forests conserve biological diversity, water resources and crucial eco-systems. The FSC standard also upholds worker rights and supports economic prosperity in surrounding communities.
