Mammut updates Eiger Extreme collection for summer

It unveiled the “completely redesigned” collection in September 2017, calling in some of the athletes it sponsors to scale a specially constructed climbing wall in a high-end department store in Zurich.
It has now presented the Eiger Extreme summer collection, which it said has been designed to make it even easier to take part in alpine activities.
“We are consistently guided by the needs of our athletes to develop lightweight, breathable and extremely robust products,” the company has explained, adding that it has emphasised “high tech materials, top workmanship and optimal functionality”.
Focusing on the lightweight nature of the products in the collection, Mammut has highlighted the Eisfeld Light SO hoody, the Nordwand Light HS hooded jacket, and the Nordwand Light HS pants, which have a combined weight of 910 grammes.
The design of the products was inspired by the microscopic appearance of ice and rocks, with clear, sharp structures and vibrant colours complementing the grey tone of rocks.
The lining for a number of the products has been developed by GORE-TEX exclusively for Mammut. The inner material is a bright orange colour, designed to help the wearer stand out more effectively in alpine terrain.
