ASICS publishes sustainability report
08/06/2018
Highlights include ASICS having become the first Japanese brand to enter a system partnership with bluesign, the launch of a series of pilot programmes for moving parts of the business to a circular economic model by finding new uses for used apparel, and the installation of solar panels at its distribution centre in Mississippi. Also in this report, ASICS has published a full list of direct tier-one suppliers for the first time.
In the course of 2017, ASICS also embarked on a programme called I Move Me, aimed at “reimagining” the principle that gives the company its name, the Latin phrase for ‘healthy mind, healthy body’.
“As the world becomes ever more aware of the impact of physical inactivity and mental illness, I MOVE ME reaffirms ASICS’ decades-long commitment to supporting physical and emotional wellbeing,” said chief executive, Motoi Oyama.
