New Balance proud of UK manufacturing history
Sportswear brand New Balance has collaborated with UK fashion designer Paul Smith to create a collection to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its 576 trainer.

It includes a men’s trainer made from black leather and a women’s trainer in white leather. Both feature Paul Smith’s signature stripe on the trim and back detail. They have full premium leather uppers and EVA midsole cushioning.

The trainers are inspired by the New Balance 576 MiUK classic running shoe, manufactured at the brand’s factory in Flimby, Cumbria in the UK.

The collection also features a football boot based on New Balance’s MiUK One product. It features white leather and branding for both New Balance and Paul Smith. It has a lightweight Super-Flex sole plate, designed to offer better traction, comfort and durability. The asymmetrical heel counter protects the Achilles, while a removable cushioned footbed offers added comfort.

“We’re proud to have manufactured athletic footwear in the UK for the past 35 years, and we remain one of the only global athletic brands to do so,” said Kenny McCallum, general manager of New Balance Football. “Working with Paul and his team, a quintessentially British brand, has been a project we have really enjoyed and a great way to celebrate the anniversary of the 576 trainer and that big football tournament happening this summer.”
