MLS All-Stars inspire latest adidas shoe
The latest product from sportswear manufacturer adidas’ ‘Made For’ footwear series is designed for the city of Atlanta and has been released to coincide with the 2018 Major League Soccer (MLS) All-Star game.

This annual occasion pitches a team made up of the best players from the MLS against a touring European club side. This year’s game sees the All-Stars play Italian team Juventus at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on August 2.

The adidas Made for MLS (AM4MLS) is assembled at the city’s own Speedfactory, one of two advanced production facilities the brand operates. The limited-edition shoe went on sale on July 28, just five days after manufacturing began.

The design process brought together local figures to share the ways Atlanta inspires them. The people involved were Atlanta United midfielder and MLS All-Star Darlington Nagbe; rapper Rich the Kid; and graphic artist Travis Love.

The base design came from Mr Love’s art installations in the city, with the intertwining pattern on the shoe representing the unity of Atlanta’s diverse community, according to adidas.

At the Speedfactory, tension patches were digitally mapped onto the upper to deliver a precise fit. The shoe also features adidas’ Torsion system and Boost midsole cushioning.
