Adidas takes on Tokyo with latest AM4 release
Sportswear manufacturer adidas has released the latest shoe from its AM4 (Adidas Made For) range, with this model designed for running on the city streets of Tokyo.

Each of the shoes in this series has been made at the company’s Speedfactory advanced production facilities. The AM4TKY is created at the Speedfactory in Atlanta, US.

It has been developed with agility and stability in mind in to allow the wearer to easily change direction at speed, regardless of underfoot terrain. This was deemed to be appropriate for runners in Tokyo. The shoe includes adidas’s floating torsion bar and Boost sole cushioning technology.

“AM4TKY further showcases the unique capability of adidas Speedfactory to create and deliver high-performance footwear at speed and scale, using advanced motion capture, data analysis and automated manufacturing,” said Ben Herath, vice president of design at adidas.

The AMTKY will go on sale through adidas’ online platform and at select retailers on September 20. As part of the launch, adidas will take its Speedfactory Lab Experience to the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, allowing the public to find out more about its Speedfactory project and how it views the future of product creation.
