Adidas explains first Speedfactory project
Sportswear manufacturer Adidas has unveiled the first major project that will be created at its Speedfactory production facility in Ansbach, Germany.

The company has said the launch of the AM4 series “heralds a significant moment for the brand in terms of the future of manufacturing”.

It will involve Adidas designing and manufacturing running shoes specifically for the needs of six key cities around the world.

The first of these is the Adidas Made for London (AM4LDN), which has been developed after close consultation with a group of consumers in the city. This allowed Adidas to gain insight into the specific demands of runners in London. This process will be applied for future locations.

The others cities for which Adidas will design a tailored running shoe are Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo and Shanghai. These will be released throughout 2018.
