Adidas Speedfactory set for Atlanta
11/08/2016
Adidas says the facility, which follows on from the first Speedfactory opened in May 2016 in Germany, will allow it to create products faster and closer to US consumers, reducing the waiting time for orders. It will allow the brand to decentralise production and react to consumer needs. The state-of-the-art technology that the facility will have will allow products to be produced in high volumes and give greater possibilities in terms of colour, materials and sizes.
Eric Liedtke, adidas group executive board member for global brands, said that it would mean “unparalleled creativity and endless opportunities for customisation in America”.
Adidas hopes to produce 50,000 pairs of shoes in 2017 and create approximately 160 jobs.
