Strong growth for adidas in Q2
Sportswear manufacturer adidas reported a 21% increase (currency-neutral) in sales during the second quarter of 2016, buoyed by strong sales from the adidas brands and good performance in key geographical regions. Total revenue for the period was €4.4 billion.

“The stellar financial performance in the second quarter is proof positive that our strategy is paying off,” said adidas CEO, Herbert Hainer.

Revenue from the adidas brand grew 25%, after strong performance in the key running, football and training categories. Sales of adidas Originals and adidas neo were also strong.

Sales of Reebok products increased 7% during the quarter due to strong growth in the majority of geographical regions. Revenues at TaylorMade-adidas Gold were also up 7%.

There was strong growth in all geographical regions. Western Europe (+29%), North America (+26%) and Greater China (+30%) led the way and there was also increases in revenue from Russia, Latin America and Japan.
