Adidas and Under Armour settle dispute
16/05/2016
Adidas began proceedings against Under Armour and its subsidiary MapMyFitness in February 2014 claiming infringement of its fitness tracking and tech patents. The case has now been settled with Under Armour paying an undisclosed amount. The Baltimore-based company will also pay adidas a license fee in exchange for use of its patents.
Under Armour’s director of innovation and research was previously senior innovation engineering manager at adidas, who pointed to his knowledge of the company’s patent portfolio as evidence that Under Armour understood that it was infringing.
