Adidas sues ECCO over three-stripe trademark

German sportswear manufacturer adidas is suing Danish shoe brand ECCO for allegedly infringing its three-stripe trademark.

In the complaint, filed in a federal court in Oregon, adidas says Ecco "intentionally adopted and used counterfeit and/or confusingly similar imitations of the three-stripe.”

ECCO sells footwear that features three and four parallel stripes on the side and adidas claims that the three-stripe designs are "in blatant disregard of adidas’s rights”.
