More brands put RECCO reflectors into their products

Developed by Swedish company Traction AB, RECCO reflectors work as part of a two-piece avalanche rescue system. Organised rescue groups have a detector while outdoor and winter sports enthusiasts wear clothing and equipment that contain the reflectors. Together these components enable “directional pinpointing of a victim’s precise location using harmonic radar”, Traction says.
It adds that the RECCO system is designed to be complementary to other tools, including avalanche dogs, transceiver searches or probe lines.
