Hong Kong to be Under Armour's regional base
Sportswear brand Under Armour is preparing to open a regional headquarters in Hong Kong as itseeks to strengthen its operations in the Asia-Pacific region, according to local media reports.

This is the latest stage in its attempts to expand its global foothold in the sportswear market. In July 2018, it appointed a number of regional managing directors.

The person selected to fill this role in the Asia-Pacific region was former adidas regional executive Jason Archer. He has been based in Shanghai since his appointment but will relocate to Hong Kong in July.

In an interview with local media, Under Armour’s chief operating officer, Patrik Frisk, said the brand needed to “empower” its regions at it transitioned to a less US-focused model. He added that its ability to scale its international business depends on “giving the regions more horse power".
