Coloreel prepares to launch thread colouring innovation

Swedish textile technology developer Coloreel has appointe Benny Johnson as vice president of its supply chain operations.

His background is in production and sourcing, with his most recent role being as production manager of multinational technology group ABB.

"It feels great that Benny has finally started working with us and I know he will contribute from day one to the positive development of the company with his broad experience and expertise", said Mattias Nordin, CEO of Coloreel.

Coloreel’s most significant innovation to date is a technology that enable high-quality, instant colouring of textile thread. It can be used in industrial embroidery, sewing, knitting and weaving. 

The first product the company is launching based on this technology is a thread colouring unit that works with existing industrial embroidery machinery. Coloreel has said that by instantly colouring a white base thread, the technology offers complete freedom to create unique embroideries without any limitations on colour. 

The official launch of the Coloreel unit will take place at the Avantex fashion fair in Paris (September 17-20).
