Timberland releases details of its CSR performance

Footwear brand Timberland has released the results for the third quarter of 2018 of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance data. Its three CSR pillars are product, outdoors and community.

In terms of product, during the quarter, 96% of the leather Timberland used came from tanneries that have a Silver or Gold rating from multi-stakeholder body the Leather Working Group. Its average use of volatile organic compounds was 56 grammes per pair, and 64% of all cotton used in Timberland apparel was either organic, US-origin, or Better Cotton Initiative-certified.

Timberland sourced product from 421 factories during the quarter. When audited for social and labour compliance, 99% of vendors met or exceeded the brand’s compliance expectations.
