Outdoor brand Timberland has announced the appointment of Chris McGrath as vice president of global footwear design. He took up the role on February 1.

He will be charge of the brand’s footwear design strategy across men’s, women’s and children’s products. He will work closely with Timberland’s creative director Christopher Raeburn, who joined the company at the end of 2018.

Mr McGrath has experience at a range of brands including Musto, Puma, Clarks, Nike and Speedo. He was most recently head of design at UK group Pentland Brands. He will relocate to Timberland’s headquarters in the New England region of the US for this role.

“We are very pleased to welcome Chris to the Timberland community,” said Jim Pisani, global brand president of Timberland. “His creative sensibility and international experience, coupled with his strategic approach to design, will be a great complement to our global product teams. He also has a proven track record as a collaborative leader who delivers strong business results, season after season.”
