New Zealand-based outdoor group Kathmandu has appointed Amy Beck as president for North America of its Oboz and Kathmandu brands. She will be based at the group’s North American headquarters in Bozeman, Montana.

Oboz  founder and chief executive, John Connelly, who sold the outdoor footwear brand to Kathmandu last year, has worked with it to find the right person to take over leadership of the company as part of his plan to step back. He will take up a brand ambassador role for Oboz and Kathmandu.

Ms Beck arrives with a wide range of industry experience, most recently from having held executive roles at two VF Corporation brands, Smartwool and Lucy Activewear. She will start her new role on April 1.

Kathmandu chief executive, Xavier Simonet, said this was a key appointment for the group.
