New Zealand-based retailer and brand Kathmandu has reported sales of NZ$232 million (approximately $158 million) for the half-year ended January 31, an increase of 13.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Its net profit on this revenue was just under $10 million, up 13.7% year-on-year.

Discussing these results, chief executive, Xavier Simonet, said: “Kathmandu is on a journey of transformation. While we are focused on driving growth for our core Kathmandu business in Australia and New Zealand, we are also step by step diversifying our channels, brand and markets, particularly through Oboz which has delivered strong growth."

Kathmandu acquired footwear brand Oboz at the start of 2018. Pro Forma sales from Oboz increased 38.6% year-on-year during the six months to January 31.
