BASF strengthens its 3D printing subsidiary

Chemicals manufacturer BASF has appointed François Minec as chief commercial officer of its 3D Printing Solutions GmbH (B3DPS) subsidiary.

He is the founder of Hamburg-based start-up Advanc3D Materials, which BASF acquired in July 2018. The company specialises in customised plastic powders and formulations for selective laser sintering (SLS).

In his new role, Mr Minec will take on responsibility for the commercial development of all four of B3DPS’ business segments. He has more than 15 years of experience in business development in the specialty plastics and chemicals sector. 

Announcing the appointment, Volker Hammes, who is responsible for the business development of BASF 3D Printing Solutions, said: “With François Minec, we have gained a proven industry expert for this key role, François has extensive knowledge and experience in the dynamic market of industrial 3D printing.”
