DuPont Tate & Lyle puts the spotlight on Susterra

DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products has launched a new website,, through which it aims to make it easier for footwear, apparel and gear designers to find bio-based material options that also offer high performance.

The website contains application-specific examples of how materials based on the group’s Susterra propanediol can help designers create products that are both sustainable and high performance. 

Announcing its launch, Laurie Kronenberg, global marketing director of DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, said: “In the past, how a product performed was the most important factor for consumers when purchasing outdoor brands; however, today’s consumers increasingly believe that sustainability is just as important as functional performance, and this belief is driving their purchasing decisions. Outdoor and fashion brands recognise this evolution in consumer thinking and are actively working to provide next-generation sustainable products that deliver improved performance.”

She added that the website would allow designers to easily find the information they need and enable them to learn about all the possibilities that Susterra offers, from outsoles to waterproof breathable membranes.
