Columbia confident of passing $3 billion in sales this year
Sports and outdoor group Columbia Sportswear has reported an 8% increase in sales revenues for the first half of 2019, reaching a total of almost $1.2 billion.

On announcing the figures, the company said that because its annual net sales are weighted more heavily toward the autumn-winter season, it believes its annual net sales to exceed $3 billion. The corresponding figure for 2018 was $2.8 billion.

In the figures it released for the second quarter of 2019, it explained that its main brand, Columbia, achieved growth of 10% year on year. Columbia accounted for more than 85% of group sales.

Its Sorel outdoor footwear brand achieved second-quarter growth of more than 30%, while growth at its prAna and Mountain Hardwear brands was 2% and 9% respectively.
