Denim wearables: Google tech in a Levi jacket

Originally designed for cyclists as part of the Levi’s Commuter series, Jacquard by Google has become part of the Levi’s Trucker Jacket. Allowing wearers to wirelessly connect their outerwear to their smartphones, the Levi’s denim jacket has a Jacquard sensor built into the left sleeve; when the phone and jacket are paired, simple actions can be performed through an interactive cuff.

The jacket enables users to play music, take photos, and get real time updates about news, sports, weather and more. LED-colored lights can coordinate to specific notifications.

The idea behind the jacket, according to Levi’s, is that users can easily interact with the digital world without disrupting what’s happening in the real world.
