Nester Hosiery names sustainability director
Outdoor sock manufacturer Nester Hosiery has promoted Katie Kumerow to director of sustainability.

Kelly Nester, CEO, said: “We have a strong commitment to sustainability and continually aim to make improvements.

“While we have certainly made large strides, there is much more to be done and under Katie’s leadership we will continue to meet and exceed our goals.”

Kumerow has been developing sustainability programmes as the sustainability manager for the past four years, and oversaw the company joining the Bluesign System, as well as managing its engagement with the HIGG sustainability reporting index.

She recently joined Outdoor Industry Association leaders in Washington to discuss with Congress how the tariffs have affected Nester Hosiery and the industry as a whole.

Ms Kumerow said: “With the climate challenges facing our world sustainability is a critical issue. There is always something we can do to improve our processes and material choices, reduce our waste and act more responsibly.”
