The Tree Climate project featured fabrics that showcase the inherent performance and sustainability credentials of wood-derived Tencel Lyocell, according to Parkes.
The collection included flannel, chamois and a retro reverse-weave sweatshirt fabric. A curly sherpa and a flat back rib featured in jerseys and sweater knits, alongside textured wovens and a classic raymar cloth.
The collection also consisted of garments with Tencel x Refibra Lyocell fibres, which are made using one third pulp from cotton scraps from garment production mixed with the lyocell wood pulp.
Sharon Perez, business development manager for activewear at Lenzing, said: “David’s celebrated creativity and passion for sustainability are evident in the collection, and these beautiful fabrics will be much appreciated by brands, retailers, and consumers.”
Parkes and Lenzing worked with several mills, including Beverly Knits and Brookwood Mills in North America and mill partners from the Far East. The garments were designed by Christie Orlando.
