Freudenberg completes acquisition of Filc

German performance materials group Freudenberg has completed its acquisition of 100% of the shares of Filc, a Slovenian company that produces needle-punch nonwoven textiles and laminated materials for the automotive and construction industries.

While Filc will be integrated into the Freudenberg Performance Materials business group, it will continue trading under the name Filc for now.

Mohsen Sohi, Freudenberg Group CEO, said the acquisition will help strengthen Freudenberg’s performance materials business and expand the group’s technological footprint in Europe. He also pointed to Filc’s adhesive coating abilities as allowing them to reach adjacent segments in the construction industry. 

“In addition,” he said, “we will expand our technical expertise in acoustics, both in construction and automotive, and provide customers a broad technology portfolio with lamination, printing, and coating.”
