After a challenging 2019, Under Armour launches podcast series

The first episode of Under Armour’s new podcast, The Only Way Is Through, launches January 21st. Presented through eight episodes, the series, according to the company, “drops listeners inside the lives of elite athletes who constantly push themselves to be greater than they were yesterday.”

Each episode will feature athletes, their coaches and other critical figures in their lives. The first episode will focus on heptathlon competitor, Georgia Ellenwood, who will recount her journey from collegiate champion to professional athlete.

The podcast is produced in partnership with iHeartRadio and will be hosted by journalist and New York Times best-selling author Cal Fussman.

Last year, the brand confirmed it was under investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the US Department of Justice for issues related to accounting practices. The brand has talked about wanting to devote more time to telling its own story. This podcast, several commentators have suggested, may be a first step.
