Timberland retail partner closing 12 UK stores
23/01/2020
The closure was announced by local media after staff at a Norwich, England, store were given the news. Norwich media shared a statement from Timberland, which explained the decision came after 73 Retail filed for CVA (company voluntary arrangement) last November in response to “tough market conditions, industry volatility and business trends”.
According to the statement, this has led 73 Retail to close half of the Timberland stores they run in the UK, as well as other brand stores including The North Face and Havaianas.
Twelve stores will continue to trade under a new business entity and 73 Retail will eventually go into administration, the statement said. In the UK, Timberland continues to trade through its own 25 stores across the country.
